Repair Café 7 Sept 10am-1pm

Event Start Date:
7th September 2019
Event End Date:
7th September 2019

We are running a Repair Café on Saturday 7th September 10am-1pm.

How does a Repair Café work? If you have items that need mending bring them along to our Repair Café. A free event where you can learn a little about your broken item while a volunteer repairer assess it and, where possible, does a fix. Note: if it needs a repair beyond our abilities we will refer you to a local repair business.

Pre-booking has now closed but we have some repair slots available tomorrow for those that haven’t pre-booked. Turn up and we’ll try to fit your repair in. We can repair: bikes, electric bikes, electrical items, textiles, lampshades, clothes, toys, silver jewellery (repair offered by a professional jeweller), furniture & other wooden items.

We’re also be running a computer clinic – bring your phone, tablet, or computer and we’ll help you with your IT issues. E.g. you’d like some notifications turned off on your phone, or need to update your phone’s software, or you need help updating your anti-virus software on your laptop. We can help!

We can supply minor spares on the day (like fuses) but if you know the item needs a distinct part, then please bring that with you. If silver is needed for a jewellery repair you will need to pay for it at the cost price (the repair is free). If there’s a lot of interest in the event, you may have to wait a bit.

Come early or stay for tea, coffee, delicious cake and a chat.

Repairs are free but donations are welcomed to cover our costs for running this event, and maintaining the village hall – we need new blinds and staging.
